THE HISTORY OF TR, OR HOW TO START A REVOLUTION

Back in the old days of an old Novaworld game called Delta Force 2 (1999), there once was a smartass called Rambo. Still on a search & destroy squad called *FTR* back then, he felt misunderstood in his intentions to help the squad and wanted the leaders to listen to what he had to say. Finding no sympathy, Rambo decided to start a revolution within *FTR* and changed his name to “:tr: Rambo *FTR*”. The leaders still did not listen to his suggestions and actually censored some of his posts on the forum. As a result Rambo decided to leave *FTR*.
That is where I (Chop) came in, I had made a promise to Rambo aka Rick or HIO to stick with him if he decided to leave *FTR*, so there we went in early 2001. Other members also left, eventually of 40 members only 2 were left. With 3 other former *FTR* brothers, Striker, Nitetiger and Maraxus, we decided to make a squad that was not as uptight regarding some useless rules as some squads can be, and emphasize on the aspect of DF2 and gaming being meant for fun and relaxation, not as a job. Obviously calling the new squad :TR: The Revolution.
In DF2 we had built quite a respectable reputation, in our final season almost winning the most prestigious Search & Destroy tournament around, and having beaten nearly every Search & Destroy squad the game had to offer. We have had many excellent members which we are all very proud of and we still consider brothers for life.
Following DF2, The Revolution moved on to play Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising as an active squad, playing matches and recruiting new members to fill in for those left behind after DF2. With these many amazing new names among our ranks we worked hard on achieving the same or even more in Joint Ops as we have achieved in DF2. We can proudly say that since starting competitive play in Joint Ops, out of over 110 matches we have only lost 9, winning 6 leagues in gametypes such as TKOTH, Flagball, TDM and AAS and finishing 2nd at 3 more.
As of today, we have retired from competitive play in Joint Ops since 2008, and are currently looking into competitive play in DFX2 as a potential step over game until Delta Force: Angel Falls.
Over all these years our core has remained the same as it was in Delta Force 2, with members such as Purpleman, Pega, Mcmad, Striker, Recce, Nihilist and myself, keeping the spirit that has kept us alive over the years, but with the addition of many wonderful new members who stepped up and displayed the true spirit of The Revolution, but always keeping in mind; Keep it fun!
